The message came from Psalm 8
Dignity At Stake -
We were made a little lower than God - Psalm 8:3.
We were not made like angels - because angels have not seen the things we have seen. Angels have not grown. We have come this far by faith - because "we once were lost" - .... you get it I'm sure.
We were made a little lower than God, meaning we have to walk with: DIGNITY.
Hold fast to your dignity because in this world it is at stake. As a black people especially, our dignity has always been "at stake". But we have the power and innate ability of IMPROVISATION. They took our language and our names. But never have they taken our dignity. They took our voice - we sang the blues and created the gospel. They gave us scrapes - we made soul food. We make a way out of no way. It is in our DNA - our spiritual make-up. Going to church on Sunday and putting on your "Sunday's Best" is about dignity -dressing up during a period when everyone is always trying to put you down - regain your dignity.
We live in a world that has constantly undermined our dignity - declaring us 3/5 of a human being - history proves we are more. Thugs, gangsters and vixens are not what we are - we are creative people. We need to be creative yet again - and regain our dignity. If you consistently compromise you must have lost the ability to feel embarrassed. Because we are embarrassed for you.
Stand up and defend your dignity. Your self value - your self worth - your self esteem. Defend us from self hatred of one successful person to another.
Hold on to your dignity because if your dignity is in tact, even while you're broke, people will have to respect you.
Be vocal - about your faith and religion. Don't fall into the unholy trinity: silence, shame and stigma.
That is all. And I repeat - this is not hypocrisy.
God bless you sista Daniel nd keep doin what u doin
